Did you know that you can now raise money for your organization with Facebook and Instagram Live? Right now is the time to utilize your social media channels to reach your audience while your organization is temporarily closed.
Social Media has taken every industry by storm, now allowing businesses to use the platform to reach endless amounts of new customers. One feature we know is useful to our clients is fundraising via Instagram and Facebook Live.
First, you’re going to want to create excitement around your fundraising campaign. Just like you would do when releasing a new movie or documentary at your theater, letting your customers know that you will be hosting a fundraising event for your organization is crucial. Information to include: Who is it benefiting, where is the event taking place, and the time and date of the event.
How to set it up:
Setting up Live Donations is really simple — just follow the steps below to set started!
- Tap the camera icon in the top left of your Instagram Feed to open Instagram Stories
- Swipe all the way right until the Live camera is open
- Tap Live at the bottom of the screen and select Fundraiser to choose a nonprofit to support
- That’s it — your Instagram Live will begin with a dedicated box at the bottom of the screen highlighting your charity or organization
It’s important to mention, unlike many other companies that support a live fundraising feature Instagram does not take a percentage of the money you raise.
Be sure to follow us on social media for more information on ways to fundraise for your organization.
